This director did everything right.
You almost want him to remake all the previous videogame movies.
IE : Dead or Alive, Super Mario Bros, Double Dragon...
If you've played a fair amount of games, it's a nice little tribute to all the genres of famous titles of "beat-em-ups", "pokemon", "guitar hero", and even "skating games".
You should read the comic too though, it's a bit longer a not as exciting but it's still fun to read.
Spoiler altert! Knives and Kim get drunk and start making out.

oma lordy. He would do such a, I mean if anybody could possibly pull off a Super mario Bros its him. He makes the movie so light hearted that nothing seems ridiculous because from the start you know anything goes.
