Edward Scissorhands Sketch

Posted by beastkid7 - August 17th, 2013

A really sweet movie. A bit tragic and very silly, but it's a fairy tale, you know? I love the music a lot. You can feel the similarities between this score and the score for the orignal Spider-man movie. Danny Elfman has a real fairytale style, that I actually really enjoyed in spider-man. Anyway, I did some sketches.

I never actually saw the ending to Edward Scissorhand.

I hear it was both heartfelt and macob.

As with most Tim Burton films.

If you liked Edward you'll love Paranorman currently on Netflix.

Yeah, I was thinking I might watch that before it leaves, like farankien weeney.

It is, not that what happens is extremely gruesome, but that the tides turn from super sweet and happy to dangerous and dark so quickly. It's really genius because the mental nature of Edward is so innocent, the sweetest character I've ever seen on screen, and yet by his physical nature is gothic, dark, and lethal. It's really interesting.

It's one of those 'people fear what they don't understand' sorta deal.

A real modern Frankenstein.

Your talking about Paranorman? because thats exactly Edward Scissorhands. Probably a theme that runs in most Tim Burton's movies though.
