Buddhism is good.

Before Jesus Christ, Asia was in termoil...

This Prince....symbolically....rejected the pleasures of his kin, to reach out to the people....

And remember the concept....a single flame can light a hundred candles.

Many Christians use Buddhist methods of self control to become better Christians.

To think of Buddhism as another religion of rejection because of the miss-conception of it's origins...

Is a faulty way to view a way of thinking and is prejudice.

For example...you DO know that Muslim, Jewish, and Christians ARE PRACTICALLY THE SAME!!!

PS - know one knows for certain what the original Sadarta looked like.

But more than likely his Indian statue was more realistic.

This statue is of the Buddah of China and Japan.

Remember...Buddahism is Indian.

Remember that "Journey to the West Story" that inspired Dragon Ball.

The Monkey King brought the Sacred Scrolls from India to China.

Those sacred scrolls were the teachings of Buddah.

What really touched me about Sadarta (if you recall from the film) was his understanding of death, sickenss, and sadness.

Being a prince, he didn't know ANY of these things....

A man as great as he was....sacraficed EVERYTHING so that he may understand the light of happiness.

Remember...Historically accurate....

Buddah came before Jesus in birth and teaching.

But Buddah was in Asia....there was no messiaha in the Middle East just yet.

And as Buddah traveled from India to the rest of Asia, the perspective changed of his appearance.

The FAT Buddah is the concept of happiness and fullness.

He could care less about his appearance and is happy with his flaws.

"If you were alone on a deserted island, you would have to get used to yourself, warts and all. There fore, an acceptance of yourself for your flaws and beauty is curcial to being happy with yourself and without the satification of knowing what others think of you."

It does seem threatening that some other major religion offers valid viewpoints than the one your brought up with.

Especially when that religion says to reject others.

But recall that things shouldn't be taken so "litterally".

Remember....about HALF of the bible before the teachings of Jesus was a history book. A chronicle of events and a teaching of rules "fit for that time period".

When the middle east was developing, people LITERALLY decided to worship their own gods for a sense of power and importance. Not for the value of it's beliefs. But for other viceful reasons.

There was MASSIVE culture clash within the culture of Muslims, Jewish, and others that existed at the time.

You got to understand that even though the Good Book is good...it isn't the only "good book."

If you take the time to analyze....to observe the teachings as to why certain cultures choose their way of life....

You'll see that "who or what" God you believe in...is IRRELEVANT to the lifestyle that certain people choose to follow.

What "defines" a "singular God" doesn't necessarily mean a single being.

But a single being who reaches out to other's and adapts to their own mentality and perspective on things.

The possibilities are endless and I feel it is more important to look at things for what they are vs where they come from.

Buddhism may not be Christianity but it hold many valid points that have brought peace to Asia.

We can learn from the Native Americans and Hawaiians about respect for the land. Their polytheistic culture has created that mentality.

See my point? Know who God is, is not as important as to what God can teach us. And he does work in mysterious ways.

Respectfully, I will not disdain ANY religion nor belief as long as the quality of their teachings exhibits a humanitarian, intelligent, peaceful, justifiable, and compassionate perspective.

For example...Indians believe that a single GREAT BEING split himself apart to become the thousands of gods and goddesses they individually worship.

By whatever means God may have tried to reach his children...it is important to analyze for what each religion is and to apply the teachings to yourself if you see fit.

And WHATEVER happened in the past in any culture, religion, or society....

Because it's more important to collect the knowledge of the past and see how it can be applied to our own future.
