So I ordered a ukulele off ebay!(nothin special) Always wanted to try one. and I've been itchen to make some kind of music with these hands and this mouth.
I figure it will be a great starting instrument ...and it looks SO fun!
Funny thing though in NY -NO one plays'em. So people laugh when I tell them I'm gonna play. But I just love the sound of it -So peaceful. Can't wait till I get good enough to play Somewere over the rainbow.
I probly never be this good tho.

I played the Ukulele once.
If you know how to play the guitar, or rather...if you learn to play ANY guitar like instrument, you'll be well skilled in any form.
The Ukulele is a handy instrument because it is small.
Originally from Portugal, it was brought to Hawaii and thus was modified with one less string.
The Term "Uku" is "flea" in Hawaiian.
So "lele" means jumping.
Literally translated into "Jumping Fleas" because of the unique high pitched sound.
Give anything enough time and dedication and you'll get good at anything.
But remember, NO ONE can technically master anything.
The only thing is that you can get better if you spend more time.
Some catch on more quickly but it varies - and it's not a competition, so stay focused.
But more importantly, the instrument is one's enjoyment.
Just relax while you play.
