Surprisingly I came to this conclusion after thinking about why some people kill others. (the feeling they get) I think we all get satisfaction from having an effect on something. The more profound the effect, the more satisfaction. So ending some ones life would be a profound effect, temporary feeling of power no doubt. Destruction, to destroy and to bring down something in align with your own motives ..in line with your own emotions, to lash out and to satisfy that need to effect something else in this world. Even against yourself, self destruction has a satisfaction to it. Your doing something about how you feel, whether it be better for you latter or not.
But, thats temporary. Lasting only a little while ..usually with feelings of regret or pain. It seems that instant things, bring instant satisfaction, but don't last very long.
To build. Is far more time consuming, but is far more satisfying than destruction. To create ideas, stories, structures, or anything really that inspires people and changes people. To know that with out you, the world would be much different. Becoming a vital member in the person that is humanity.

Exacto. Man desires power--control, authority, strength. We are taught from the beginning to be successful. We crowd around the famous, the rich, the popular. We are taught to reach for them. To craft ourselves after them. And we realize that it could not happen. We begin to seek joy in other places. The rejected grow strange, the fall into madness or become great men of vision. Deluded vision. To become great. To strike down nations. They become men of skills. Men of great character. Great knowledgeable man. But they are not happy. Only in death will some feel a quick moment of understanding. Of peace.
Do not crowd around the wise. Know that the two of you are equals. Both of you nearly drowned in the world of lie. Listen and learn. Know that modesty is the beginning of many great advancements. Know that material things are worthless. Act as according to nature. And never despair over an inability to communicate with others. Walk the path of simplicity, compassion, and courage.

Luckily I was raised to view people with out partiality. I figured the subjectivity of success. And until someone proves me different, I retain the view that money is an illusion.
Rejected men grow strange. A blessing and a curse. Because the flow of humanity as a whole doesn't seem to ..smart. Being rejected from that is a protection of sorts. but, at the same time, we were ment to be accepted. So I think I see what you mean. Still, even rejected, they look for a way to effect help humanity. Even through drastic change. From the outside.. you can see better. Uninfluenced. But you may not fully understand.
"And never despair over an inability to communicate with others." Why is it that the people who think the most are often the ones who are not effective communicators. ironic. :P perhaps its because there pessimistic or are far too aware of themselves to be secure.
