THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN -reviewish thing

Posted by beastkid7 - July 4th, 2012

Yes it is a reboot and so it tries to be different, and it succeeds, to a certain extent.

We've got Gwen Stacy, the Lizard, mysterious parents, and a Peter Parker who actually looks like Peter Parker.

Things I liked/loved:

The acting/casting was superb! Andrew Garfield is amazing, Emma Stone as well, and the villian played by Rys Ifans.

Seriously, the way Andrew Garfield played Parker was really great! This time around Parkers got a little more balls to start with while still being very nerdy. He just plays it so real, man. It's a sight to see.

I think I may have liked the romance between them more than anything else.

Emma Stone is adorable!

That there still in highschool

It's such a good looking movie! The suite actually looks fantastic on screen. The cloths the have Gwen and Peter wear are cool. The subtle way the show 'spidey sense'.

The humor. It's got alot of that type of dialog improvish humor you've got to be there to appreciate. As well as Spidey's smart mouth.

Things I didn't like:

The over use of Spidey's mouth. At some moments it just seemed like Spidey was just trying too hard to be a wise ass. Or more like he continued on being a wise ass when it wasn't nessasary. (like a drawn out joke, that was funny in the beginning)

Speaking of which, maybe its just the editing I'm talking about. Some scenes seemed to carry on longer than needed.

He's so human. Lastly. This one is the most opinionated ..and undermines the very bases of what this movie was going for.. and actually why I was excited to see it. I am very much contrasting it with the first Spider-man when I say he was too human for my taste. It's just the role that other people had to take for Spider man to succede in this movie was so huge.. he's just not as cool.

In contrast. The original movie spider man was so amazing that it wasn't a question of if he could survive ..but can he save everyone else? Can he be in more one place at one time? and he would many times be able to with great cleverness. and sometimes he wasn't. But, that was his weakness.. he had to save people. People didn't have to save him.

So in summary: this new Spider-man is a hell of a lot prettier, but the old one would woop him. hehe, no but, go see it, its pretty great!
