The Dark Knight Shooting

Posted by beastkid7 - July 20th, 2012

I'm not gna write it out, you can take a look at the what happened this morning, here.

But, its sad, and stupid.

It brings up something to mind. Aside from the obvious horrid situation of death and injury.

The effect a movie can have. We don't know for sure, his motives. But, it would be one hell of a coincidence if it had nothing to do with the insane terrorist theme in batman.

Why would you do something like that?

Do we glorify violent villains to an unhealthy degree?

To the point were some one lost and sick may feel they can only find recognition, feeling or ..impact by destroying others.

Made a related post a while ago ..I saw the movie at midnight. I was gna make a little review, but I guess I leave that for a later date.

DC gets people killed nowadays.

I guess.... has this happened before?

I prefer Joker ;)

ohman, he's was so good

Comicon itself is an example of an unhealthy degree of "loosely quote" "idol worship"

In a sense. People take their fantasies WAY to far. Even "bronies" are getting a bad'er rep from being labeled as pedophiles. One man even got arrested under suspicion because his parents discovered his pony toy collection. This act of violence being related to the movie may or may not be true despite what the articles say.

Dale Carnagie said that all people want to feel important. Just like the criminal John Dillinger. It's how they achieve this sense of self importance that determines what kind of person they are.

Seriously, read his Book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" it offers the DEEPEST insight to the behaviors of humans so well that if you were an alien, you could blend right in with the crowd and survive the uncertain social norms.

People feel this longing sense of self-importance that they are willing to subject themselves in a variety of activities. Some small, other very extreme.

Now there is nothing wrong with comicon. As long as you have a good time. But there are the folks that truly believe or want to become the characters they admire that they lose tough with reality.

"You are You" and "You" is all you can be. But what you can be is a manifestation of what you can imagine. Don't lose your own identity. Build your own character from the inside out.

You mean the theater thing? It happend, someone took a video.

haha, I think I might read that book. I feel kinda like an Alien sometimes.

Yeah, thats not good. I've never admired a character enough to want to be them. (with the exception of spiderman :P) Thats why Id only go to comicon only -representing- the different things I like. Or only 1/4 cosplaying. With an authentic jacket or something.

:) I like that last part.

I think only the mentally ill would are affected by things this way and it would always happen somehow eventually.

I agree. You arn't always born mentally ill.
